Today I had my trial lesson at one of the 'My First Skool' childcare centre. The trial lesson determines whether I get the job. Oh fyi, I went for a job interview a month ago. My very first job interview and man, was it scary. I was practically shivering while waiting for my turn. Okay, maybe not to that extend. I wasn't really shivering but my heart was thumping fast. The thoughts on my mind were running everywhere. Seriously, I couldn't think straight. But I told myself to keep it cool and just look happy, interested and as though you know everything in the world. Haha. And So the interview went well. The interviewer was a nice lady and she didn't make things hard for me. Thankfully. There were a few questions that got me stunned for a moment or two. But I managed it well and answered her question with confidence (I hope).
Back to the trial lesson. Yeah, it didn't really went well. Cos two of the kids just lost interest after a while. I had to warned them to behave a few times. But can't blame them though. They are just being kids. But thankfully, the girls were quite obedient and they listened to me. One negative thing was that I had to keep raising my voice when I talk to them (which I hated so much). The class had 24 children but I guess it was less than that when I came down just now. So I practically had to raise my voice so that the children who were with me would be able to hear me well. And then after the lesson, my throat was hurting badly. Maybe I should start projecting my voice with my diaphragm rather than straining my voice. I did get feedbacks from my mentors saying my voice is quite soft. Oh well, should start practicing speaking loud.
Anyway, really hope I would get the job and after graduation I cant start work immediately. Make changes and empower the children. Haha (macam paham). Learn that from IEP (independent education project). Wish me luck!
Cheers! :D:D
